Data: The Traitors season 4 most read about yet

January 26, 2026

The latest season of BBC One’s The Traitors is the most popular yet, generating more readership interest than any prior edition except for 2025’s celebrity spin-off, data from Taboola shows.

Taboola’s readership data, taken from its network of UK publishers, shows that articles about The Traitors season 4 generated 3.6 million pageviews in the two weeks leading up to its finale – up from 1.8 million in 2025.

Viewership figures for the season 4 finale, which was broadcast on January 23rd, also reached an all-time high, with 9.6 million people tuning in to watch live. The competition was won by Traitors Rachel Duffy and Stephen Libby, who themselves received over 410,000 news article pageviews collectively.

This year’s season saw the introduction of a Secret Traitor – a contestant that worked as a Traitor without the audience, or the other traitors, knowing their identity. Articles specifically relating to the secret traitor received more than half a million pageviews since the end of December.

Despite its success the new season failed to attract the same readership interest as last autumn’s celebrity spin off, which generated over 10 million pageviews over the course of the series.

“After four seasons and a celebrity spin-off, you might expect The Traitors to lose some of its momentum. But readership interest keeps growing and growing,” said Dave Struzzi, Communications lead at Taboola. “Our data indicates that the show is becoming more popular every time it airs. The added twist of a Secret Traitor has got more audiences reading about the programme this season – something for publishers to keep in mind when planning their approach to season 2 of The Celebrity Traitors later this year.”
