The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has set June 2026 for its Auction 113 with bidding set to open on June 2nd 2026.
The FCC issued its 276-page Public Notice on December 18th with guidance for how the auction will be handled. The filing window for interested parties opens on January 26, 2026, while ‘upfront’ pre-bidding payments can be made on April 8th 2026.
Important as this auction is, the FCC’s mid-band upper C-band spectrum which covers 180 MHz of satellite spectrum will see 100 MHz auctioned off “no later than July 2027”.
“To meet that deadline, the FCC proposes to leverage its highly successful framework from the first C-band proceeding. In 2020, the Commission auctioned 280 megahertz in the lower portion of the C-band (3.7-3.98 GHz) for flexible wireless use. That auction brought enhanced 5G to countless communities, accelerated new builds, and enabled game-changing competitive offerings for in-home broadband,” said the FCC.
