Roku City will get a Wicked-ly enchanted new look when Universal Pictures paints the iconic cityscape green and pink, in celebration of the November 21st cinematic release of sequel movie Wicked: For Good.
For the first time ever, this Roku City takeover will span the globe, across the UK, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and the US, transporting Roku users to the magical world of Oz when they start their streaming journey.
From November 14th to 16th, Roku City will be transformed into Emerald City – marking the first time a branded neighbourhood is available to a global audience. In addition to familiar landmarks from the upcoming movie, such as Shiz University, viewers will see the first-ever flying animations with Elphaba on her iconic broom.
Launched in 2023, Roku City Neighbourhoods feature brand-specific buildings, visuals and destinations to make brands extra prominent when viewers start and end their streaming sessions. Roku has previously collaborated with a variety of brands across industries to organically integrate them within Roku’s cityscape, scrolling through millions of living rooms every day.
