Mometu appoints St John as Horror Ambassador
October 1, 2025
Free streaming platform Mometu has announced a partnership with Black Box Horror founder Caley St John, bringing her onboard as the company’s first-ever Horror Ambassador.
St John has built Black Box Horror into a celebrated hub for fans looking to discover everything from cult classics to boundary-pushing indies. In her new role with Mometu, she’ll serve as resident horror pundit, curating and covering films across the spectrum, including iconic classics, found-footage gems, international standouts and rising indie projects.
“Mometu was built to celebrate voices and visions outside the mainstream, and there’s no genre that encompasses that more passionately than horror,” said Bryan Louzil, VP of Business Development at Mometu. “Caley brings both the credibility and the community to help us showcase horror in a way that’s authentic and exciting for fans.”
The partnership comes at a time when horror continues to dominate pop culture. From festival circuit buzz to streaming viewership spikes, the appetite for genre programming has never been stronger and platforms like Mometu are stepping in to spotlight films that might otherwise get overlooked.
For St John, the role marks a natural evolution of her work. “Horror is one of the most universal genres out there — it’s visceral, it’s personal, it’s global,” she said. “Partnering with Mometu means I get to help shine a light on the films and filmmakers pushing boundaries and keeping the genre alive. I’m thrilled to join the Mometu family and can’t wait to share what we have in store.”
As Horror Ambassador, St. John will collaborate with Mometu on curated collections, themed programming, editorial coverage and fan-facing activations, expanding the streamer’s already diverse offering of free-to-watch films.
The move underscores Mometu’s broader mission: to give underserved content, from horror to international indies, the spotlight it deserves, all without paywalls or subscriptions.
