Sky drops Pop Max
April 22, 2025

Children’s channel POP Max has ceased broadcasting on all Sky platforms. This includes the main POP Max and POP Max+1 channels which were available via Sky Q and Sky+HD, as well as POP Max HD on Sky Glass and Sky Stream.
The channel brand was already removed from Freeview in 2024 amid a shift towards digital streaming.
Sky confirmed the news on its website, stating other POP-branded channels will continue to be available with some changes to their EPG channels: Tiny POP will move from channel 618 to 615, Tiny POP+1 will move from 629 to 619, and POP+1 will move from 619 to 618.
Pop Max’s content – which includes titles such as Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir and Grizzy & the Lemmings – will remain available through the Pop Player app
POP Max first started as Kix in 2008, before being rebranded in 2017.
Paul Dunthorne, Managing Director at Narrative Entertainment which owns the POP channels, commented: “We deliver high quality kids programming to families across the UK, and we always make it free. Our POP network is a powerful way for advertisers and sponsors to reach households with kids, and we’re ensuring the maximum impact for partners by closing the POP Max channel on Sky and moving the content to our POP channel and POP Player. Our POP network is still the UK’s only dedicated free-to-air commercial kids broadcaster, and the number one kids network for co-viewing, with 48 per cent share.”
