La Liga has announced the opening of a workspace in the Saudi Pro League (SPL) headquarters in Riyadh. This strategic initiative is part of La Liga’s ongoing efforts to expand its footprint in Saudi Arabia and aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which emphasises sports development as a key pillar for national growth.
The new workspace, dedicated for La Liga and all the Spanish clubs in Saudi Arabia, officially started operations on December 2nd.
La Liga President, Javier Tebas, and Omar Mugharbel, CEO of the Saudi Pro League, attended the opening at the Saudi Pro-League headquarters, where the new workspace is located. La Liga will also have a delegate in Riyadh soon, as a part of the strategic plan of internationalization, with presence in 34 countries through 11 offices globally.
Tebas commented: “La Liga is committed to the growth of the sports and entertainment industry in Saudi Arabia, a country that also represents a great opportunity for growth for our clubs. The opening of this workspace marks a turning point in our relationship with the region and with the Saudi Pro-League, and we are confident that this collaboration will lead to new projects in the future”.
Mugharbel added: “We are thrilled to welcome La Liga to Riyadh. This partnership is an important move for collaboration between the SPL and other leagues and is a testament to our commitment to opening the SPL to the world.”
