Zinc Media acquires Raw Cut

October 30, 2024

Zinc Media Group, the television and content creation company, has acquired Raw Cut, the UK independent production and distribution group.

This strategic acquisition strengthens Zinc’s position as a key player in factual production, by solidifying their presence across all UK nations, as well as enhancing their IP and distribution potential.

With a strong reputation in ‘Blue Light’ programming, including popular series such as Road Wars and Police Interceptors, Raw Cut has been portraying ‘Life on Screen’ for over 20 years. Founded in 2002, it brings a legacy of over 800 hours of factual television, including True Crime, History and Feature Documentaries, as well as long-standing partnerships with Netflix, Sky, BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Discovery.

With production centres in London and Cardiff, Raw Cut brings a coveted Welsh presence to Zinc’s nations presence in Scotland and Northern Ireland, enhancing their ability to represent audiences around the UK, and to respond to market demand for more out-of-London programming. Raw Cut also bring an international distribution division, based in London, which will support Zinc’s tactic to deliver greater secondary programme value.

Mark Browning, CEO of Zinc Media Group, said: ‘We are thrilled to welcome Raw Cut to Zinc Media Group. Their expertise in ‘Blue Light’ and documentary programming aligns perfectly with our vision for world-class factual content. This acquisition strengthens our production capabilities, expands our IP catalogue, and reinforces our commitment to regional storytelling’.

Steve Warr, CEO of Raw Cut, added: ‘Joining Zinc Media Group presents an exciting opportunity for Raw Cut. We’re proud of our legacy in producing must-watch television, and this partnership allows us to collaborate with Zinc’s talented team to broaden our reach and accelerate growth’.
