Greece: Antenna Group acquires Village Roadshow Operations

Antenna Group, the international media and entertainment organisation, has agreed with Eurobank to acquire the multiplex cinema chain, Village Roadshow Operations, in Greece.
Antenna Group’s first acquisition in the cinema sector highlights its ambitious growth plans. The Group has a long history of serving audiences through its media outlets and across various platforms with quality programming, state-of-the-art productions and unique content creation and distribution.The newly acquired Village cinema multiplex commands a 42% market share and has a dominant footprint regionally. Village Roadshow operates 62 cinema halls, with 12,700 seat capacity and hosts film releases from all major Hollywood and independent studios and distributors and offers a variety of entertainment amenities and services.
With its vast media and content investment experience over the last 30 years, demonstrated by investments and operations across North America, Europe and Australia, including the multi-territory, multi-channel Sony Pictures Television deal in 2021 which positioned Antenna Group as a leading operator in the CEE region, the Group is ideally positioned to further grow the business successfully and create development opportunities and synergies.
Currently operating in more than 40 territories, Antenna Group is keen to explore similar opportunities internationally to enhance the premium entertainment offered to its global audience.
