Apple tops $3 trillion

Apple has become the first company to hit a stock market valuation of $3 trillion (€2.65tn) as markets opened in New Year.
Its value slipped a little to end January 3rd’s trading session in New York at $2.99 trillion.
Apple has been a big winner in the pandemic, as lockdowns saw spending on gadgets jump – 16 months ago the valuation was $2 trillion.
The company was the first company to hit a stock market valuation of $1 trillion in August 2018, the company made its stock market debut in 1980 with a market valuation of $1.8 billion.
