Vodafone Spain is this week launching the first commercial 5G services in 15 Spanish cities: Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Málaga, Zaragoza, Bilbao, Vitoria, San Sebastián, La Coruña, Vigo, Gijón, Pamplona, Logroño and Santander.
The company is already selling 5G mobile phones from manufacturers including Samsung, Xiaomi and LG to give access to the 5G services.
CEO of Vodafone, Antonio Coimbra, declared that Spain is at the forefront of 5G in Europe, being the first country to launch 5G commercially.
Initially, the 5G coverage in those 15 cities will reach 50 per cent. “We will continue deploying more antennas and adding new cities”, said Coimbra.
