February 11, 2019
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Movistar and Orange have launched new football offers in Spain to win pay-TV subscribers.
Both companies are now offering Champions League football and the Europa League for free. Movistar was first to make the announcement, adding the content to its Fusión Total package at no extra charge. Orange has followed suit and has announced the same deal for subscribers with the Cinema and TV series TV package.
The knockout stages for both competitions kick-off this week.
Meanwhile, Vodafone has cut the number of staff to be cut by 75 to a new total of 1,175. Trade unions are still calling for strikes.
