Netflix has an estimated 8 million subscribers in Brazil, according to the country’s online content and digital services business UOL.
UOL says that Netflix now has some 6 per cent of its global subscriber base viewing in Brazil, and delivering an annual revenue worth about BRL 1.4 billion, which itself is almost 50 per cent more than that being received by national broadcaster SBT.
Indeed, in the pure pay-TV market Netflix is now closing in on the existing 8.7 million homes served by Net Claro.
