Spain: €1bn for DTT migration
October 22, 2018
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Spain’s second digital dividend – with DTT migration and the auction of 5G frequencies – will yield the Administration up to €1.05 billion.
The firm S&P Global has estimated that the 5G auction for the 700 MHz frequency in 2019 will cost the operators between €750 million and €1.05 billion. The estimated cost for MHz per inhabitant ranges between €320,000 and €450,000.
Last July, the Administration already auctioned 200 MHz in the 3.7 GHz band for €438 million at a price of €50,000 for MHz.
