AMC Networks has launched a mobile app branded MicroCanales (micro channels) to promote its 14 pay-TV channels in Spain with short-form content available on IOS and Android mobile phones.
MicroCanales will show programmes, TV series, documentaries and films from AMC’s 14 channels; TV series from Sundance TV, documentaries from Odisea and Canal Historia, childrens programmes from Canal Panda, films from Canal Hollywood and cooking programmes from Canal Cocina, and other various content from Crimen + Investigación, Sol Música and Canal Decasa.
The president of AMC Networks Iberia, Eduardo Zulueta, said that the initiative “aims to promote and raise awareness of our brands and content”.
“In Spain, there are still 60 per cent of homes that not only have no pay TV service but is unaware of the content available either,” Zulueta continued. He explained that MicroCanales will show them “a small sample of the variety and quality of our channels.”
