Movistar aims big with eSports

Movistar is betting big on eSports to boost its pay-TV subscriptions, and aims to become the main Spanish-speaking eSports content provider in the world.
The company is bolstering its TV channel Movistar eSports with the launch of new in-house programmes and original TV content plus more live transmissions. the channel is already having an impact on the digital ecosystem with 2.7 million followers, 15 million of views and 250,000 viewed pages a month.
Movistar has announced that the channel will soon cover all International Spanish speaking events, and offer a new magazine programme about eSports.
Movistar eSports was launched a year ago along with ESL, the largest eSports company in the world.
