AMC integrates European businesses

AMC Networks International, a producer and distributor of pay-TV channels in Spain and Portugal, has expanded its business unit to now include France and Italy. Eduardo Zulueta will lead the new unit, under the title of President of AMC Networks International Southern Europe. Zulueta is also President of AMC Networks International Latin America.
The newly named unit, AMC Networks International Southern Europe, headquartered in Madrid, will now manage SundanceTV France, taking on its production, programming, marketing and distribution processes in the French market. Founded by Robert Redford, the channel broadcasts a wide range of independent films awarded in festivals across the world and premieres critically acclaimed international series. SundanceTV is available in France through Orange, Canal+, SFR, Bouygues Telecom and FREE.
Furthermore, AMC Networks International Southern Europe will explore new business opportunities in the French market and work toward distributing channels and content in Italy.
Manuel Balsera, Senior Vice President of AMC Networks International Southern Europe, will lead the areas of Affiliates, Ad Sales, Marketing and Digital, while Pilar de las Casas will oversee the programming and acquisitions strategy as Vice President of Cinema and Documentary Channels. The remaining functions will also be managed by executives of the previous AMC Networks International Iberia unit.
