AT&T confirms DirecTV LatAm spin-off

US telco AT&T says it is planning an IPO for its DirecTV Latin America division.
AT&T says it will be floating a minority interest in DTV-LA. The IPO will likely take place in the first half of this year.
The report is not a surprise and was widely reported in October 2017 when rumours suggested that a float could bring in as much as $8 billion, which would be used to pay down debt on its planned purchase of Time Warner.
