Google revamps smart glasses
July 19, 2017
Google has unveiled a revamped version of its smart glasses, more than two years after the original version of the product failed to take flight and was cancelled.
The Internet giant said Glass Enterprise Edition had improved battery life and the general comfortability of the glasses. It will face competition from Microsoft’s HoloLens among others.
“Workers in many fields, like manufacturing, logistics, field services, and healthcare find it useful to consult a wearable device for information and other resources while their hands are busy,” explained Google Glass project lead Jay Kothari. “That’s why we’ve spent the last two years working closely with a network of more than 30 expert partners to build customised software and business solutions for Glass for people in these fields.”
