The Walking Dead getting VR treatment
June 16, 2017
Skybound Entertainment, the entertainment company founded by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and David Alpert, is partnering with Skydance Interactive, to create VR games based on The Walking Dead universe. The announcement was made during the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The companies say the first game of the multi-year deal will be based in a new setting beyond the current TV series.
“At the heart of The Walking Dead is conflict with humans, not zombies,” said Peter Akemann, president of Skydance Interactive. “As with everything we do at Skydance, we will endeavour to take story to the next level, focusing on the power of VR to deliver a uniquely rich gaming experience of interacting with other human characters.”
