Movistar’s pay TV makes mobile the remote control

Telefónica is launching a new multi device functionality that will allow its subscribers to control and manage their pay-TV service through the mobile phone or the tablet.
The new service, integrated into the multidevice offer Movistar 360, will become available in the first week of May and enable users to select and send TV content from the mobile phone or tablet to then watch on the TV without the need to search via the STB.
The new functionality will also allow the subscriber to use the mobile phone as a remote control, including options to pause, rewind or forward, record, alter volume, change the channel or surf through all TV options. Additionally, the subscriber will be able to store content and watch it back at any time, even on a diferent device.
In addition, Telefónica has launched a new convergent package called Movistar+ Ocio offering the Familiar package and TV series channels with a 20 per cent discount for the first six months. The new package has a price of €60 for ADSL clients and €72 for those with 300Mb speed on optic fibre during the first six months. Then the price will €75 and €90 respectively.
