Amazon Prime Video has become the exclusive US home for the second season of mystery-thriller Fortitude following the closure of cablenet Pivot, which coproduced the first run.

Fortitude, which will be billed as an Amazon original series in the US, is produced for Sky by Fifty Fathoms. The first season, which premiered on Sky Atlantic in the UK in 2015, became the network’s most successful original drama commission to date. It has also been available on Prime Video in the US since January 2016 and has been sold globally by Sky Vision.

“In Fortitude, our customers will experience Dennis Quaid in a remarkably compassionate role, joined by an ensemble cast that has resonated with audiences globally,” commented Joe Lewis, head of comedy, drama and VR at Amazon Studios.
