McLaren Technology Group has announced that Zak Brown has accepted the position of Executive Director, McLaren Technology Group, commencing on a soon-to-be-finalised date in December.
Brown’s appointment will be a significant part of a restructuring programme that will align the Group’s commercial and strategic operations relating to achieving success in Formula 1.
Brown had been linked with a senior commercial role for the Formula 1 Group, working alongside new chairman Chase Carey following the Liberty Media acquisition of the sport, but recent rumours suggesting a role at McLaren had increased.
On November 18th, Motorsport Network, of which Brown is Chairman, acquired Motors TV, which covers a range of four- and two-wheeled racing action below the levels of Formula 1 and MotoGP.
