Subs down at Canal Digital
October 27, 2016
By Chris Forrester
Telenor Broadcast suffered more client erosion at its Canal Digital pay-TV division, although overall revenues were helped (up 2 per cent) by an increase in subscribers and device sales. DTH subs stood at 865,000 (down 4 per cent, and 900,000 at same period last year).
Telenor Broadcast’s Q3 revenues fell back by 2 per cent to €127 million.
It was a similar story at Telenor’s Satellite Broadcasting division, where revenues were down by 6 per cent (Nok 242m, from Nok 259 m a year ago) and not helped by a reduction in bandwidth sales in its Data and Satellite Uplink services.
