Skyworth clarifies Brazilian DSO role
July 8, 2016
By Colin Mann
Smart home solutions provider and set-top box manufacturer Skyworth Digital Technology has corrected a statement – subsequently withdrawn – released on July 28th, related to its supply of STBs into the Brazilian digital switchover (DSO).
It had said that the company had been selected as a supplier for Brazil’s DSO and as the main provider for the largest cities in the first stage of the project.
Contrary to the previous issued release, Skyworth does not supply any STBs directly to the Brazilian market or to local exclusive partner EAD. Skyworth does not have any form of relationship or exclusivity with regards the supply of STBs for the Brazil DSO. Skyworth is partnering with local supplier to provide solutions in compliance with local regulations.
Skyworth deeply regrets misleading statements made in the previous press release.
