Wolfgang Elsäßer, managing director of Astra Deutschland, has left the satellite operator, effective May 1st, after 12 years at the company.
He has been replaced by Norbert Hölzle, SVP/commercial Europe, who will take the lead in the important German division as well as continue with his original role.
“After more than a decade at Astra, the time has come to take on a new professional challenge. I leave the company in best friendship and want to thank our partners for the fruitful and excellent collaboration,” said Elsäßer (47), in his farewell note.
Elsäßer had also been MD/CCO at SES Platform Services in the period 2005-2012.
SES’ German division contains its commercially most valuable clients, not least Sky’s German suite of channels, and a slew of German (and Austrian) public and commercial broadcasters.
