The March 12th Italian Serie-A football match between Inter Milan and Bologna at the San Siro Stadium was captured in Ultra-HD and High Dynamic Range (HDR).
The coverage was provided by Italian outside broadcast specialist DBW Communications on behalf of TV rights-holders InFront Sports & Media.
Ultra-HD and HDR is being described as the ‘next revolution’ in TV broadcasting, and manages to deliver more light to the screen but also to significantly better handle sports games when played in direct sunlight when part of the pitch is affected by shade. The likes of Netflix are committed to supplying much of their new Ultra-HD content using this improved HDR technology.
