FilmBox acquires Disney animated movies

SPI International/Filmbox have announced a new agreement with Disney, securing first-run movie content that will play on FilmBox channels in Central Eastern Europe.
ABC Studios’ American Crime television series is one of the 2015 titles included in a content package acquired recently by SPI International’s Kino Polska TV from Disney for the global pay-TV operator’s FilmBox brand movie channels and FilmBox Live VoD service in CEE.
Among titles picked up by SPI from Disney are such hits as the animated movies Planes 2 and Big Hero 6. In addition, the package includes Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella and two instalments of the Tinker Bell franchise: Tinker Bell and The Pirate Fairy and Tinker Bell and The Legend of the NeverBeast.
While SPI is planning to air these titles on FilmBox brand premium movie channels in Poland, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and other CEE countries, the company has also secured SVoD rights for titles included in the deal.
