Irdeto, a specialist in digital platform security, will be providing security for a new Tivibu satellite pay-TV service from Turk Telecom Group, the leading telco Turkey. Irdeto’s Media Access and Management services use Irdeto CA to give Turk Telecom Group strong, renewable security across new DVB-S STBs that offer content to non-fibre customers.
The introduction of Tivibu in 2009 by Turk Telecom has made a significant difference in television broadcasting in Turkey. Focusing on TV broadcasting as one of its major fields of activity, Turk Telecom recently took bold and ambitious steps towards becoming Turkey’s largest broadcaster and now aims to reshape the Turkish TV market, similarly to other fields it operates in.
“As we looked to grow our business and provide new services, we needed a trusted partner that reflected our agile and innovative nature while giving us the freedom and flexibility to target new customer segments and increase our market share,” said Nazmi Muhsinoglu, Service Management Director at Turk Telekom. “Irdeto met these criteria and ensured that we had robust security for our flagship STBs while crucially allowing for a quick roll-out of the technology due to their strong network of relationships in this market.”
