Vodafone ONO face strike action
September 10, 2015
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Workers at Vodafone and ONO are mobilising against the dismissal of 1,297 people and are going on strike later on this month several days.
Trade unions have called for a walk out on September 21, 28, 29 and 30 to show opposition to the lay-off of around 21 per cent of the workers (492 from Vodafone and 805 from ONO) out of a total of 6,200 employees. Workers are also calling for a demonstration in the centre of Madrid
The company decided to approve the redundancy plan soon after acquiring ONO in an attempt to exploit synergies.
