Fox has renewed The Simpsons for its 27th and 28th seasons, that will carry it to a total of 625 episodes.
The current 26th season has been ranked among the top 10 among men ages 18-34 while averaging 6.2 million viewers per episode, according to a statement from Fox.
The globally popular animated series, recognised as the world’s longest running sitcom, has been on the air for 26 years.
Meanwhile, due to dwindling sales, it has been confirmed that any future The Simpsons DVD releases have been scrapped.
