Turner Broadcasting is cutting 10 per cent of its global workforce of some 14,000 staff. Turner said 1,475 will go through a mix of redundancy, and layoffs. 300 jobs go at CNN, about 8.5 per cent of its staff.
Other job losses, as part of the 10 per cent total, will go from TNT, Cartoon Network, Headline News and other Turner-group channels. Turner’s 18 overseas locations are also affected.
Turner says that directly affected staff will be advised over the next two weeks.
