YouView appoints Thexton CTO

On demand TV service YouView has appointed Nick Thexton as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Thexton is currently VP and CTO for Cisco’s Video Software Solutions group and was SVP and CTO at NDS prior to its acquisition by Cisco. Thexton began his career in broadcasting with time at Thames Television and Channel 4. He has a rich background in software engineering and reputation for innovation through a number of roles involving R&D and major project delivery. Key recent developments include work on cloud-based video distribution to hybrid devices and the development of dynamic ad insertion technology which is now successfully deployed in the Sky ‘Adsmart’ program.

Thexton will join YouView on November 3rd.
