French multi-channel programmer AB Groupe is to make all its 14 channels available to its distribution partners in full HD. From May 13th 2014, it will cease Standard Definition distribution to concentrate on HD.
The company describes the initiative as a major technical challenge that will need heavy investment for the Group and allow it to take its place among the largest suppliers of full HD channels in France.
It also confirmed that from May 13th, Canalsat will offer its customers four of these channels (RTL9, Cine FX, Action and Animals) in HD.
