Thailand: TV coupon plan postponed
April 22, 2014
The distribution of digital TV subsidy coupons may be postponed to late June or early July, as the regulator has not finalised the plan’s details or coupon value.
The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) could not conclude the coupon’s value and distribution plan for proposal to the board on April 16th.
Col Natee Sukonrat, chairman of the NBTC’s broadcasting committee, said the board wanted to ensure that the coupons for digital TV would be transparent.
The issue concerning whether pay-TV operators could get subsidy coupons is still pending consideration.
