Hopkins to head Hulu?
October 11, 2013
Hulu is reportedly in talks with Fox TV executive Mike Hopkins about taking over as CEO. Hopkins is president of distribution for Fox Networks Group, a unit of Twenty-First Century Fox .
Hulu owners, Fox parent News Corp, Disney and NBCUniversal have been looking for a new CEO since the departure of Jason Kilar last year. Andy Forssell has been serving as interim CEO.
The appointment of Hopkins would bring to Hulu an executive who is experienced in negotiating with pay-TV services. The company is working toward becoming an online partner to the industry, providing cable subscribers mobile and online access to programmes, and is creating its own shows.
