Thailand says that by the fourth year of its 4-year plan, some 95 per cent of the nation will be able to receive a full portfolio of digital channels.
Thailand’s National Broadcasting & Telecoms Commission (NBTC) is requiring upcoming digital broadcasters to boost their signals beyond their current 50 per cent plan for Year 1to 80 per cent in Year 2, and 90 per cent by the end of Year 3.
The current scheme calls for an auction of digital frequencies, covering 24 channels, taking place by the end of this year.
