Netflix, Dreamworks original programming deal
June 17, 2013
Video streaming service Netflix will increase its original programming slate through a new, multi-year deal with DreamWorks – the maker of movies such as Shrek and Kung Fu Panda.
DreamWorks is looking to expand its television production and distribution worldwide through this deal that has 300 hours of new programming.
The agreement, Netflix’s largest for original programming, is also the first time DreamWorks characters will be shown on television as a branded collection of shows, the companies said in a statement.
The first of the new series is expected to air in 2014 and Netflix will premiere the new shows in all the territories in which it operates.
