LandscapeHD goes global with Sony Bravia

LandscapeHD, the first 1080p linear instrumental music channel, has shipped its first app through inclusion in the Sony Bravia 2012/2013 televisions. Viewers can watch the channel through the playlist option in the app, giving Landscape global reach and anyone buying a Sony Bravia television can now receive a full 1080p channel at their fingertips at a time when none is yet available through traditional television distributors.
Nick Austin, Chairman of Landscape, said the channel knew its language-less format works well in all countries because it had been offering the format for 26 years. “It is extremely gratifying to know we can now deliver our free-to-air music channel anywhere in the world and, thanks to Internet distribution, we can see it happen instantly. Viewers everywhere want the full 1080p for their 1080p screens and the the transition to full HD starts here and is effectively in-store now. This gives Sony Bravia a marvellous edge over other hardware manufactures because you can see the difference between what we do at Landscape and what pretends to be HD coming over the air off of low-bandwidth satellite services,” he asserted.
