Numericable bidding for SFR?
February 25, 2013
French press reports say cableco Numericable may bid for MNO SFR.
BFM Business says the funds behind Numericable – Carlyle, Cinven and Patrick Drahi – are to make a cash offer with a plan to merge the two at a later date.
A deal would probably see Vivendi dispose of its interest in SFR. Making a deal will depend on the valuation of SFR and of the synergies that would be realised by a combination of the two companies. SFR brushed off any talk of a deal.
