blinkbox signs exclusive MGM deal

blinkbox, the video search engine owned by UK retail giant Tesco, has signed a deal with Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios (MGM) for the entire James Bond film catalogue, including the latest installment, Skyfall, – the most successful Bond film of all time, grossing over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
The other 22 films in the Bond franchise will be available to buy via blinkbox, as well as around 100 other titles, such as the Rocky and Robocop films, and classics including The Silence of the Lambs and The Great Escape.
The movies can be accessed on tablets, games consoles and connected devices as well as PCs and Macs.
Chris Ottinger, president, international television distribution & acquisitions, MGM said: “We are delighted to share the legendary James Bond franchise with Tesco’s blinkbox viewers across multiple platforms for James Bond’s 50th Anniversary.”
