Israel’s YES offers low-cost basic bundle

Israel’s YES satellite platform is offering a low-cost basic bundle of 15 channels. The introduction is in direct response to its rival HOT cable operator which is also marketing a 16-channel bouquet for the same ILS 129 per month (about $33).
The special rates are a ‘one time only’ offer for this month, although new subscribers can then lock in the rate for the next 18 months.
YES subscribers can pay extra for additional channels, although the HOT offer is fixed and does not permit extra channels to be added.
YES was launched in 1998 and enjoys a satellite monopoly in Israel. It is 49 percent owned by telco Bezeq. HOT is the end result of a merger between cable players Matev, Tevel and Arutzei.
