YouTube: “We could do pay-TV”

Ben McOwen Wilson, UK content partnerships director at YouTube, has said that the service will look to develop a subscription offering but only if it could offer something distinctive.
Speaking to the RTS he said YouTube saw itself as a TV platform and was prepared to invest in channels. It recently launched its channel partner programme for Europe and listed 60 channel partners at MIPCOM in October.
