BT accelerates fibre plans again
November 2, 2012
BT has revealed plans to further accelerate its commercial fibre roll-out, with the aim of surpassing two thirds of UK homes in spring 2014. The goal is over 18 months ahead of BT’s original target of the end of 2015.
This is the second time BT has brought the programme forward, having previously moved the completion date from the end of 2015 to the end of 2014.
When complete, BT says its commercial fibre footprint will cover around 19 million homes and businesses. BT has passed more than 12 million premises with rollout to date.
