BSkyB chief executive, Jeremy Darroch, received more than £7 million (€8.75m) in total remuneration and share award payouts last year, including a maximum bonus of almost £1.9 million.
Darroch’s total remuneration, which includes salary, bonus, pension and benefits for the year to the end of June rose 7 per cent year on year to £2.98 million. He received a £1.87 million bonus, the maximum achievable of 200 per cent of his base salary, while he also received a 5.29 per cent pay rise from £888,000 to £935,000.
The company said Darroch’s bonus was based on “three equally-weighted measures” – operating profit, free cash flow and product growth.
Darroch also received £4.32 million for 620,000 shares which vested as part of BSkyB’s long-term incentive plan. Darroch personally holds 296,157 shares in BSkyB, worth about £2.2 million at the current share price.
