ODG to launch VoD for Qtel
August 17, 2012
On Demand Group (ODG), a division of Avail-TVN, has been chosen by Qtel to launch VoD services, including transactional and subscription services.
Qtel is the leading provider of both fixed and mobile telecommunications services in the state of Qatar, and is part of the Qtel Group which has a presence in 17 countries in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia. The new subscription on demand service, On Demand Club, enables Qtel customers to view a wide selection of TV series and children’s programmes, blockbuster studio and independent movies and the latest music videos whenever they want.
“We are very pleased to have launched premium VoD services with Qtel,” said Tony Kelly, CEO of ODG. “VoD has been proven to be a key added value consumer offer that when added to broadcast and catch-up TV services, allows Qtel to offer the consumer a total TV experience. In addition when bundled with triple-play offers, VoD can help acquire subscribers, raise ARPU, and decrease churn. This launch further demonstrates our ability to provide compelling TV-on-demand services”.
