Telefonica’s IPTV service Movistar Imagenio is launching on Apple’s iPhone and iPad thereby reaching 95 per cent of all smartphones as the service is also available on Android and Blackberry phones.
Telefonica claims to have over 100,000 mobile clients to Movistar Imagenio which offers over 50 TV channels, among them Gol TV, Paramount Comedy, TNT, Fox, Eurosport, Historia, Odisea, Cartoon Network, Calle 13 or MTV Music.
The service on Apple devices will be under promotion for a month with free of charge access to the TV offer for all iOS clients. Telefonica has also developed for Apple and Android phones a free of charge application, called Guia Imagenio, like an EPG, with info about the service, access to trailers, programming information and summaries of content. So far 52,000 clients have already downloaded the app.
