Cablevision tops 1m digital subs

Cablevision is migrating its analogue subscribers to digital at an impressive rate. Two years ago (March 2010) the South American MSO had 742,000 digital subscribers in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. Today (March 2012) the number is topping 1.1 million digital subs, out of a total 3.48 million.
Cablevision passes 7.59 million homes so there’s plenty of scope for expansion, but it is from its Argentinean base that it has enjoyed most success where it has 3.25 million subs. Argentina’s growth is now a modest 0.9 per cent growth, while its international (Uruguay and Paraguay) growth was a more attractive 5.4 per cent growth. Cablevision maintains market leadership in all three countries.
