E-TV to launch in Zambia
March 1, 2012
South Africa-based broadcaster e-TV is looking to launch another version of its popular channel for Zambian viewers. E-TV already has spin-off channels transmitting in Botswana, Ghana and Kenya.
The current thinking, according to a BBC Monitoring report, is that e-TV will partner with a Zambian newspaper, the ‘Daily Mail’, to provide news and other programming for the new service.
Ria Bonthuys, who is poised to become the chief executive officer for E-TV Zambia, said the channel will air a variety of local news stories, the top billing wrestling and other sports shows. “We want your journalists to be analysing some of the shows we air, especially sports,” she said, adding that she saw e-TV in Zambia helping change the face of television in the country.
