Local reports say that the Qatar Information Foundation intends to launch a new Qatari satellite channel.
Additionally, the Foundation (which funds the existing Al Jazeera Children’s Channel – JCC – from Qatar) said the kids channel would enjoy further developments starting in April.
Mubarak Bin-Jaham al-Kuwari, chief executive of the Qatar Information Foundation, did not elaborate on the shape or target audience of the new channel. Qatar, besides its clutch of Al Jazeera-named news and sports channels, also has a documentary service.
