Telenet scores remaining Belgian football rights
November 23, 2011
Belgian cable operator Telenet has secured the rights to broadcast all football matches from the country’s Jupiler League from next season.
Telenet, which had earlier secured non-exclusive rights to a limited number of games, will reportedly pay an additional €4.8 million a year on top of the €60 million it has already committed to secure rights to show the remaining games.
Rival telco Belgacom will continue to broadcast Saturday games until 2014 under its current contract.
